ARTICLE DETAILS:

The following are examples of Congress voting on Bills they didn’t even read:

  • On March 22, 2018 by a vote of 256 to 167 the House passed a 2,232-page $1.3 trillion Spending Bill that nobody could have possibly read.
  • On May 4, 2017 The House of Representatives voted on the 137 page American Health Care Act and many members admitted they didn’t read it.
  • Congress received the 1,603 page $1.013 TRILLION spending Bill on December 9, 2014, just 48 hours before they voted on it. This was monumentally irresponsible because it was not humanly possible to read that bill before they voted on it.
  • In 2009 law makers were given 72 hours to read the 1,000+ page Affordable Care Act.
  • Congress passed the “Patriot Act” on October 24, 2001 having only one day to read it. The Patriot Act, the most UNpatriotic law ever conceived “allowed” the government to rescind our 4th Amendment right to be secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. With this law the government began surveilling and recording our texts, emails and phone calls.
